— Mysore class has a traditional form of transmitting techniques from teacher to student. In these classes, students practice positions according to their own capacities. Even though, more than one student can practice during one class, each student gets the teachers’ attention and instructions. Mysore classes are designed for any level practitioners; from beginners with no experience in practicing yoga to advanced multi-annual practitioners. Mysore style of practicing is a personal and intimate journey on which there is no perfect asana or definite yogic experience, but only what the practitioners experience in the moment of interaction with themselves, the practice, the teacher and the ambience they practice in. Led class is considered to be more advanced in relation to mysore class. It can be very useful in stimulating and maintaining discipline, as well as in perfecting the exact number of vinyasas (movements with breathing, which is the very essence of the ashtanga practice). In led classes students practice simultaneously, harmonizing their rhythm with the number of vinyasas the teacher is giving. To attend a led class, the students need a certain amount of personal and independent practice in mysore classes.
